Recently our Head of Science Dr David Scott and two King’s scientists wowed the pupils at St Johns’ CEP School with a science assembly. The whole school were present and were captivated by the exciting experiments and intriguing questions that they raised. Magic chemistry and the energy and waste challenges for future generations were covered.
The children were enthralled and on being asked what a molecule was, one year 3 pupil responded that it was lots of atoms joined together. Fantastic science knowledge at the age of 7!
At the end of the half hour the children were given the opportunity to ask questions some of which were: “What do you have to put in a mouse to make it glow?” “How can you grow food in a desert?” “How can we get food to Mars?”. All these great questions were inspired by Dr Scott’s assembly and just went to show what a fabulous bunch of scientific thinkers the pupils at St Johns’ CEP school are.
