This event is suitable for students in Years 10-13 who may never have experienced debating before (max 8 pupils per school) plus their accompanying staff and is designed to help them gain confidence to enter the debating tournament at King’s on 8th November 2018.

The event will provide coaching for students on debating skills and outline what is involved in a competitive pupil-led school debate. It will provide a great CPD opportunity for staff in running debating societies and entering external debating competitions.

The introduction afternoon will cover:

• A general introduction to the British Parliamentary format (common at schools level)
• A demonstration debate and judging feedback
• Mini debates – (pupils)

The event will start at 2pm and will be finished by 6pm. Light refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon.
