Cathedral Spires
In 2016 we launched a new project with one of our partners, Spires Academy. Cathedral Spires is a cross-curricular enrichment programme for selected Year 7 pupils from Spires who visit King’s each week to learn about the Cathedral’s history, art, architecture, archives and so on. Each term culminates with the creation of a piece of art (stained glass, clay gargoyle) which the pupils take home. At the end of the year the pupils show their parents around ‘their’ cathedral as part of a celebration. Several teachers and pupils from King’s have been involved in leading the activity in collaboration with the enthusiastic experts from among the Cathedral staff.
We are happy to welcome visits from schools who would like to explore the history of the King’s School.
